My Story — Starting Over, One Step at a Time

My Story — Starting Over, One Step at a Time

If you read my first post, you know that mywellness.health wasn't born out of a marketing plan or business textbook—it was born from life. Real life. A messy, painful, yet beautiful and unpredictable life.

My name is AJ, and not too long ago, I found myself standing at the edge of everything I thought I knew.

A few years back, my wife and I left the East Coast for Texas. We came to Texas to celebrate her birthday and to visit some family, but my wife wasn't feeling well, so we got her checked out, and unfortunately, she had been diagnosed with a terminal illness. In a whirlwind of love, hope, and fear, we made a move and bought a home here, believing we still had time. But we didn't. She passed away just two months after closing on our new home.

The truth is, I grieved in silence. Working from home, far from lifelong friends and familiar faces, I often found myself alone with my thoughts, sorrow, and pain. On top of that, I underwent a couple of surgeries, including one for a serious shoulder injury. Emotionally and physically, I was at rock bottom.

And then—something shifted.

Maybe it was the silence. Perhaps it was the memory of the strong woman I'd lost. Maybe it was the mirror.

But something told me: You have to fight for your life now. No one's coming to do it for you.

I stepped into the gym one morning, barely able to do and lift a fraction of what I used to. But I showed up. Again and again. I started eating better, and I began walking more. Slowly, stubbornly, I rebuilt my strength. Over time, I lost over 160 pounds and reclaimed a version of myself I thought was gone forever.

mywellness.health was born in this space—the space between heartbreak and healing. I wanted to create something that honors the past but looks firmly toward the future. A place where people can feel seen, supported, and inspired. Whether you're navigating loss, chasing a health goal, or just trying to make better choices day by day—you belong here.

We're not just selling supplements and nice activewear to look good in. We're offering hope. Tools. Community. A reminder that no matter where you're starting from, there's always a way forward.

Thank you for being here.

Thank you for reading my story.

And if you're facing something hard right now, please remember:

You can Renew. You can Rejuvenate. You can Reinvent.

I did. And you can, too.
